The Race to Victory is Digitised in Formula E’s Accelerate Championship
With the global popularity of FIA Formula E going from strength to strength, they have gone that one step further into the future of esports and digitised it for the Formula E Accelerate Championship. Elite sim racers battled for a piece of the €40,000 prize pool and the Accelerate Drivers Championship trophy in the Grand Final, which was live at the 2023 Hankook London E-Prix. Giving competitors the opportunity to unlock their racing potential and get themselves into the virtual hot-seat by joining opening qualifying sessions and races.
A spokesperson for the event said ‘The Accelerate Championship London Finals at the London E-Prix went down fantastically. 11 sim racers from across Europe competed in 2 races to declare the overall winner. Dawid Mroczek ended up taking home gold, closely followed by Risto Kappet and Manuel Biancollila.’
A Trophy with E-xtra Style
The all new Formula E award was created in solid aluminium and plated in polished 24ct Gold Plate, Nickel & 18ct Rose Gold Plate to celebrate the top 3 racers in first, second and third place for this exciting championship. ‘All 3 Sim Racers loved the trophy designs, with the new Formula E ‘torque e’ design it gives a flowing look that invites movement. They look minimalistic and sleek.’
Gaming Product Manager for Formula E had this to say about working with EFX – “It was a fantastic experience. We came to them with a tight deadline and a relatively closed brief and they worked with us to push through the design and delivered these fantastic pieces that are the strawberry on the cake of the competitions!’ We definitely agree these awards added to the E-xcitement of this fast paced event!!”
