The Oscars Of The Magazine World Return For Another Year
For the third year running EFX have created striking column awards for the British Society For Modern Magazine Editors (BSME), changing up the design each time to keep things fresh! BSME chair, Deborah Joseph said “One thing I definitely remember is the BSMEs being the most prestigious awards to win in magazine journalism – and I’m proud to say as chair it’s still the same today.” And we are incredibly proud to create them year on year!
‘The Oscars of the Magazine World’ were hosted this year by Radio Presenter and TV Personality Vick Hope and BSME Chair and Editor In Chief of Glamour UK Deborah Joseph at Rosewood London. ‘The event itself went so well and the feedback from guests was fabulous. There were quite a few VIP’s in the room, including Naomi Campbell, Edward Enninful, Laura Whitmore, Caitlin Moran, Polly Vernon, Divia Thani and more.’ – A spokesperson for BSME.
The Mark Boxer Lifetime Achievement award, voted by the committee members, recognises the outstanding commitment to magazine journalism throughout the winner’s career. This year’s accolade went to Edward Enningful, editor in chief at British Vogue, for being instrumental in bringing Black models to the forefront – ‘Edward has created a magazine where everybody is welcome and can see themselves. He has boldly designed covers and features where nobody else had dared.’ Said Naomi Campbell who presented him with the important award.
The British Society for Magazine Editors is the only one of its kind in the UK, exclusively for digital and print editors, providing a strong and clear voice for the industry. Becoming a member of the BSME is an inspiring multifaceted experience, meeting frequently with editors from various top digital and print publications, attending talks from industry experts and networking at some of London’s most exciting venues, it is a great place to find and nurture talent. The awards recognise the best editors, art directors and columnists of the year, showcasing the ground-breaking, the inspirational, and the covers that tell a story of the times.
Brand Colours
Their vibrant and recognisable brand colour yellow was pantone colour matched and font matched to their logo, then printed onto the back of a crystal column for a beautiful 3D prismatic effect. The trophies featured heavily through the event and were loved by their winners!
BSME had this to say about their working with EFX and their awards “EFX are a joy to work with, they created beautiful trophies for us which were much admired by our winners and the team there are incredibly efficient, organised and great communicators. A huge thank you from all at the BSME”
