Inspiring the Next Generation of British American Footballers
The British American Football Association (BAFA) is the national governing body of American Football in the UK. Their mission is to inspire people to play the game, while also professionalising the sport. They want to create an accessible, inclusive, safe and enjoyable player-focused environment for all ages and abilities.
Each year they hold final events across all of their different formats and age groups. In these events the top teams battle to be crowned champions in their different categories. This included Britbowl weekend and the National Flag League finals, which are the culmination of the adult competitions each season.
To support these, BAFA needed a variety of medals and awards. Commenting on why they opted for EFX to create their awards, BAFA’s Operations Manager said: “We wanted to bring all our trophy and medal purchasing into one supplier to bring some consistency and make ordering easier for our volunteers and staff. As part of this, EFX were able to replicate and enhance our iconic ‘pylon’ trophy design – as it was important we retained that… They also helped us come up with a new, modern design to replace dated salvers for some of our other competitions and created a unique custom medal incorporating our logo, that we rolled out for our later events. By designing both at EFX we were able to streamline the designs and sync up the medal and trophies to give more of an impact.”
Recreating The Iconic Pylon Design
EFX created awards for 16 categories across the various BAFA events, comprising three different designs. Their largest pylon design was realised in solid nickel plated aluminium with a digitally printed, polished 24ct gold plated emblem. The medium sized pylon was made with the same base but with an added solid dark blue acrylic layer on the top and a digitally printed white acrylic emblem badge. The smallest of the three designs was a finer style made from solid aluminium nickel plated and an acrylic printed badge attached to the front. The medals were a mix of copper metal, nickel metal and gold coloured metal with white enamel logos and branded lanyards.
“These were a big hit with all our winners, who shared lots of positive feedback with us about the design and quality!” Said the client.
